Giving Thanks: 10 Things I'm Grateful For

With Thanksgiving just days away, I'm finding myself thinking about all of the things I'm grateful for this year. Twenty-nineteen has been one of my favorite years yet—I celebrated my one-year anniversary at my first "career" job, I married my very best friend in the whole galaxy, I started ( and am sticking with! ) this blog, and I became closer to some of the best friends I've ever been lucky enough to know. While those are just a few of the awesome things that have happened in my life this year, I'm specifically extremely grateful for the following ten things:

  1. Being married to my wonderful, amazing, Runescape addicted husband. It's very difficult to put into words how much I love Tyler. I firmly believe that he's my soulmate, and I couldn't have chosen a better man to spend forever with. He supports every decision I make; he takes care of us, our home, and our cats; he's kind to those around him, and he always puts me first. I could go on forever, but I'll spare you. (;

  2. Coming home to my cute & cuddly cats. I'd be completely lost without those four furry little sons of bitches. They are such a hoot; they make me laugh and smile every single day no matter what kind of mood I'm in. They're truly such loving companions, and I can't imagine my life without them. I'd miss the business out of their biskies ( read: biscuits ), that's for sure.

  3. Celebrating another year of good health. I feel very fortunate to have always been in very good health, and I hope that continues to be the case for the rest of my life. Since meeting Tyler, I feel especially grateful for my health. He was diagnosed with Type I diabetes at 19 years old, and it can be a very scary disease at times. While he is in good health for the most part, diabetes is a part of our daily lives, and it always will be.

  4. The cozy oasis that is my home. The apartment that we currently live in feels like our first "adult" home, and I absolutely love it. Our neighborhood is wonderful, our leasing manager is so sweet, and our apartment is a dream-come-true for me. It's the kind of place I've dreamed of living in since I was old enough to imagine having an apartment of my own. It will definitely be a bittersweet day when we move out, but I know that'll just be one step closer to finding our forever home.

  5. My family, both new and old. I'm thankful for both of my parents and how our relationship has evolved now that I'm an adult; I'm thankful for my little sister and I becoming closer than we've ever been; I'm thankful that my 93 year old great-grandma is still whipping around in her old ass Monte Carlo, and I'm thankful for all of the family that I married into. In total, I now have seven beautiful sisters, three sweet-but-ornery brothers ( as all brothers are ), eight loving and supportive parents, and way too many wonderful extended relatives to count. I come from a very small family and have always wondered what it would be like to have so many siblings and cousins, and now I know—it's pure chaos in the best way ever.

  6. My squishy little month-old nephew keeping my baby fever satiated. My little brother-in-law and his amazing girlfriend had their first son at the end of October, and boy do I love that little chunk. Aside from just being the cutest EVER, he's helping me ride out my baby fever until I'm ready to have babies of my own—which, as of right now, I don't plan to do for another few years. Kid's already pulling his own weight and doesn't even know it.

  7. My friends who were there for me when others weren't. I definitely found out who my true friends are this year, and I'm extremely, extremely grateful for them. I've learned that quality matters waaay more than quantity, and friends you've known for mere months can show up for you more than friends you've known for years and years. I want to thank Kayleigh, Daniela, and Brittany for being the most loving, supportive friends I've ever had. You guys are amazing, and I have to thank you for all you've done for me this year. I love you incredible bitches (,:

  8. Hope for the future and all the possibilities it holds. I'm so excited to see what the next five-ten years have in store for Tyler and I. We have some big goals: buy our first home, take a trip to Hawaii, go abroad, and have some babies. ( Don't push me on the baby part, we're a good few years out from that goal. ) Each year of my life seems to be better than the last, so I can't wait to see what happens in the next few. All good things—I'm totally manifesting it.

  9. New opportunities on the horizon. There are a few things in the works for 2020 that I can't talk about yet, but I'm very excited ( and anxious ) about them. The most I can share is that we plan on launching the next chapter of our lives this next year, and we're making a few big changes in order to do so. Stay tuned... (:

  10. You! It means the world to me that you're taking time out of your day to tune into my blog. Those of you who answer my blog-related polls and questions on my Insta Stories are the best; it's seriously super helpful because I want to produce content that you want to consume. I really appreciate your thoughts and opinions, and I also appreciate you for being a reader. Thank you for being here.
